Pennam one of the key organizers of the inaugural Sci-Tech Forum of TANA
TANA organizes regular events and conferences to encourage interaction between the members of this organization

IRVING, TX, September 07, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sudhakar Pennam is an active member of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA), one of the largest Indo-America national-level organizations,
with over 32,000 members across the USA and Canada. The organization was
formed to promote and sustain the cultural heritage of the Telugu-speaking
people in North America.

TANA in collaboration with several key business organizations is launching an initiative
for the Indian Diaspora in Dallas - a forum on Science & Technology. It is a free
networking platform where key trends, issues, challenges and opportunities in the
science and technology industry are discussed and shared. It is focused for employees,
employers; corporate executives; research strategists, faculty and students in the
science and technology industry & academia.

The inaugural forum, which was held recently, discussed "Key Changes in Information
Technology - Its Impact on Overall Environment of Business, Jobs and Social Life".
Sudhakar Pennam was a part of the organizing committee which also included Prasad
Thotakura, Ram Yalamanchili, Murali Vennam, Nagendra Bandaru, Ramki Chebrolu,
Satish Manduva and MVL Prasad.

TANA organizes regular events and conferences to encourage interaction between the
members of this organization. The organisation hosts Telugu literary, educational and
cultural conferences on a regular basis. It invites distinguished Telugu Scholars, artists,
artisans, statesmen to North America for lectures and seminars.

The organization works with educational institutions to develop concentrated studies in
Telugu literature, history and other subjects. It also promotes Telugu art, culture, music,
dance and drama among the younger generation.

TANA publishes and distributes among its members a bilingual TANA Patrika, and
biennially holds the national "North America Telugu Conference" as well as the "TANA
Youth Conference."

In this way, the organization serves as a cultural ambassador of the Telugu-speaking
population in North America.

TANA has also carried out many CSR initiatives including:

• Raising over $332,000 through the Operation Envision program to restore sight to
the blind and visually impaired in Andhra Pradesh, India

• Partnering with the Child Aid Foundation to help assuage child poverty in India
and globally

• Enabling university education for Indian students, through its Adopt a Child
program and numerous other scholarships
